However, these titles are Water Purification Process that you will find in water purifiers from varied brands and different manufacturers. Of course, some brands may have only UF or UV, while some may just have RO. Here arises a question about the TDS controller in a water purifier.

TDS Controller in a Water Purifier

TDS controller can be referred to as a TDS modulator too. The main job of any water purifier is to clean out the impurities in the water making it pure and safe for you to consume all day without any fear of falling sick or getting caught water-borne diseases.

So, what is a TDS controller in a water purifier?

The main function of any water purifier or Reverse Osmosis water purifier is to kill and eliminate the germs and bacteria from the input water and from the water source. When purifying the water, it also eliminates the Total Dissolved salts, TDS. Generally, the Reverse Osmosis process makes sure that it has removed nearly 90% of the Total Dissolved salts from the input water or from the water sources like borewells, taps, municipal taps, and tanks.

Hence, the Total dissolved salts in the input water or from any other water source will be around 1200ppm. When the RO water purification system starts doing or commences functioning the TDS levels decrease to 150 to 200ppm.

Remember, a human body can bear up to 500ppm Total dissolved salts. If the limit is crossed then these TDS levels more than 500ppm may cause diseases that are directly associated with water-borne diseases and other harmful infections. You ought to understand that water with 200ppm of TDS level won’t be a good taste or smell as Reverse Osmosis water purification has eliminated significant elements such as calcium, sodium, potassium, and magnesium.

This will make the water taste bad, as it has less or no pH level present in it. These elements have been washed out when the Reverse Osmosis has completed and purified the water.

Well, there are some brands and manufacturers that employ TDS controllers in a water purifiers. However, these TDS controller mechanisms are specially made for the removal of heavy substances and solid particles such as lead, and arsenic. TDS controllers or TDS modulators will ensure that there are no solid or harmful particles left behind during the process of water purification.

TDS controllers generally trace out the essential minerals and nutrients such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, and sodium, and keep them present in the water causing no side effects in the drinking water. It is necessary to bring up the TDS controller from 150 ppm to 500ppm for some water purifiers.

The other water purifiers in the market can remove up to 1000ppm, while some water purifiers in the Indian market can eliminate up to 2000ppm TDS levels. Hence, it is necessary to buy a water purifier that has these TDS controllers or modulators.

You should know and buy the right water purifier that has a lot of features with the above-mentioned one.
